The Washington D.C. architect who designed the $1.6 billion renovation of a Dupont Circle hotel has been hired by a major hotelier to help build a new hotel floor plan in its first floor.
The design firm of Kelli Miller & Associates will design a new flooring flooring system to be installed at the Dupont Center in downtown DC, said Joseph Giamatti, a senior vice president with Kelli.
The floor plan will incorporate architectural elements of the hotel’s existing floors, Giamacci said in a statement.
The hotel has hired Giamaccio as its vp of architecture and planning for its first floors, which include a lounge area, dining room, bar and a full-service bar.
The new floor design will be unveiled during the D.P.R. conference in Atlanta next month, Glamaccio said.
In addition to Miller & & Associates, a consortium led by W Hotel Group is building the $9.8 billion renovation for the Dupmont Center.
The hotel is a landmark on Pennsylvania Avenue, where the first floor of the former Dupont Hotel once stood.
