Wood flooring is a popular construction material, used for everything from ceiling tiles to bathroom sinks.
It can be expensive, though.
We’ve been seeing a resurgence of fake wood floors recently.
They can be made cheaply with a few materials and are often more attractive to the eyes.
Here’s how to make one in less than 30 minutes.
Put some white oak in the flooring cabinet.
If you’re like me, you don’t need any fancy equipment.
Just a regular old jointer, a bucket, a drill, and a few screws.
But for me, I just wanted to try my hand at making some fake wood.
Start by adding some wood chips.
Once the jointer is ready, add a couple of sheets of white oak, along with a couple more sheets of wood chips, and then a little bit of glue.
This will hold the wood in place and give it a nice glossy finish.
Put the wood chips on the floor.
Then, with the jointers attention focused on the wood floor, put the floor in place.
The wood chips can be glued to the floor, or they can be just glued directly to the board.
If you want to get fancy, you can also glue a piece of wood onto the floor to make a door frame.
Get the finished floor to a certain depth.
With a little more time and patience, you should have a nice, smooth, glossy finish to your floor.
Just remember to use a little less glue.
Finish off the wood with some nails.
Now it’s time to put the finished wood floor in the cabinet.
I put it on the counter and set it on top of a box, which was a nice touch to the finish.
I then added a couple nails to each corner to give the floor a more finished look.
Take a look at the finished look of the floor!
Now, if you’re feeling extra fancy, put some fake cherry wood on the wall.
It gives it a beautiful glossy finish that doesn’t get damaged when it’s exposed to the elements.
Take it home and make your own floor!
